Sara Noel is a Michigan-based writer and frugal living expert. She founded FrugalVillage.com in 1999, an online community dedicated to sharing tips and ideas for saving money, which she sold in 2013, but continued writing for her readers on the website an additional two years. At the time, she owned a portfolio of web properties which she shutdown to focus on family.
As a nationally syndicated columnist for United Media and Andrews McMeel Universal, her “Frugal Living” column ran daily from 2007 to 2013. Sara’s journey into writing began during her childhood in upstate New York, where she wrote funny screenplays based on school and kept observation notebooks inspired by Harriet the Spy. She was also a huge fan of Charles Schulz.
Her work has been featured in various print and online publications, and she continues to share her occasional insights on frugal living, but primarily sharing topics such as gardening and houseplants, home and family, food, birds, and nature here at QT Bird. At heart, she’s a humorist and always noticing the absurdity of life.
