Oats, sugars, pecans, chocolate chips and flour pressed in layers in a quart jar. Add butter, an egg and vanilla for hearty cowboy cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Directions

  • Put the dry ingredients in a 1-quart jar in layers, pressing down on each one.

Notes

Cream 1/2 cup butter or margarine, 1 egg and 1 tsp. vanilla, mix in the jar contents, shape walnut-sized balls, and bake at 350 F for 11 to 13 minutes. Contains nuts.
