A shake-together mix of two boxed cake mixes that makes a single mug cake whenever you want one. It keeps about six months, so it works well for gifting.

Ingredients

1 box of your favorite cake mix (any flavor, any brand)
1 box of angel food cake mix
3 tablespoons of the combined mix and 2 tablespoons of water for each mug
Optional toppings: frosting, whipped cream, or Cool Whip

Directions

Place both boxes of mix in a large zip-top bag or airtight container, then seal and shake to combine. Add a label.
To make one: spoon 3 tablespoons of the mix into a microwave-safe mug.
Stir in 2 tablespoons water, but do not overmix.
Microwave for 1 minute (adjust for your microwave).
Add toppings, then eat from the mug or slide the cake onto a plate.

Notes

Mix keeps about six months at room temperature. Flavors: vanilla, yellow, strawberry, spice, red velvet, funfetti, or devil's food; stir-ins: sprinkles, marshmallows, chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, shredded coconut, or M&M's; toppings: frosting, icing, whipped cream, berries, Cool Whip, ice cream, hot fudge, butterscotch sauce.
