What You’ll Need
Seed packet template (downloadable )
Paper for the envelopes (any paper; optional sturdy card for a reusable tracing template)
Pencilscissors
Glue (a glue stick is easiest)
Seeds
Directions
Download the template and print it on your paper, or trace it onto card stock so you can reuse it.
Cut along the outer border, and lightly pencil in the inner rectangle if you need to.
Fold the four flaps inward along the lines, crease them firmly, then unfold them.
Fold the largest flap in to make the back. Glue the narrow side flaps and the bottom flap, fold them in, and press them down to make a pocket.
Wait for the glue to dry.
Fill the packet with seeds. For short-term use, fold the top flap down; for longer storage, glue it shut.
Notes
Gift idea: decorate the packets with colored or textured paper, gift wrap, old magazines or newspaper, stamps, or stickers, and resize the template for small or large packets. Label each packet with the plant name, variety, and year. Store seeds cool and dry.Safety: Kids can help fold and decorate; adult handles scissors for little ones. Choose native or non-invasive seeds for gifts, and keep seeds away from small children and pets.
