Castile soap, water and essential oils in a spray bottle. Mist and mop lightly; don't soak wood floors.
What You’ll Need
1teaspooncastile soap
4cupswater
5 to 10dropsessential oil (optional; peppermint, orange or lavender)
Spray bottle; microfiber mop (or Swiffer-type mop wrapped in microfiber)
Directions
Sweep or vacuum first.
Put the soap, water and oil in the spray bottle, put the cap on, and shake well.
Test on a hidden spot (under furniture), rinse, and check for damage.
Mist about 3 square feet at a time, and never use so much that water pools on the floor.
Mop in the direction of the grain with a dry microfiber mop; rinse and wring out the pad when it gets dirty.
Notes
Safety: no vinegar or lemon (acid can strip urethane and leave floors cloudy); no baking soda or abrasives; avoid excess water (swelling, cupping, warping). Peppermint and citrus oils are toxic to pets, skip oils or keep pets off until dry.
