Take a Seed Inventory
Sort leftover seed packets by crop and year. Most seeds stay good for two to three years if kept cool and dry. Test older ones by rolling ten seeds in a damp paper towel inside a plastic bag. If fewer than seven sprout in a week, sow them thickly or replace them.
