Fake snow

Baking soda and hair conditioner stirred into cold, fluffy fake snow that packs into snowballs.
What You’ll Need
- 1 cup Baking soda
- 6 Tablespoons Conditioner (start with 5 for drier, powdery snow)
- Bowl measuring cup and spoon, fork, baking tray
Equipment
- mixing bowl
Directions
- Put the baking soda in a bowl.
- Pour the conditioner over it.
- Stir with a fork, pressing the mixture together.
- Move it to a baking tray and squish with your hands. It should hold together as a snowball without feeling wet. Too dry: more conditioner. Too wet: more baking soda.
- Make snowmen, snowballs, or a winter scene.
Notes
Chill the conditioner first for snow that feels cold. Store airtight at room temperature; it lasts at least a few weeks, but toss it if it smells or feels off.
Safety: NOT edible. Don’t put it outside: the ingredients aren’t good for wildlife. Supervise little ones so it stays out of mouths and eyes (baking soda stings eyes). Unscented conditioner is gentler on skin.
