What You’ll Need

  • 1 Bottle of Elmer’s Glue (6 oz or 3/4 cup of glue)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1½ TBSP of Contact Lens Solution
  • Optional: up to 1/4 cup of water for a stretchier slime (it)
  • Optional: extra glitter

Equipment

  • mixing bowl

Directions

  1. Squeeze the whole 6 oz bottle of glue into a bowl.
  2. Stir in the baking soda until well mixed. For stretchier slime, you can add up to 1/4 cup of water now.
  3. Pour in the contact lens solution a little at a time, stirring as you go; you may not need all of it.
  4. Keep stirring until the slime forms and starts to firm up. Lift it out of the bowl and knead it. If it is still sticky, rub a little lotion or baby oil on your hands.

Notes

The contact solution must contain boric acid (and sodium borate) or the slime won’t form.
Safety: NOT edible. Adult help required. Contact solution with boric acid is a borate activator, so this is not the borax-free version; better for about age 6+ with supervision, and wash hands after play. For toddlers or kids who mouth things, use the borax-free or edible slime instead.
