- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon Kool-Aid lemonade drink mix
- 1/3 cup shortening
To bake one package

- 4 teaspoons water
Equipment

- zip-top bags
Directions
- Whisk the sugar, flour, baking soda, salt, and lemonade drink mix together in a medium bowl.
- Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender until the mixture looks like cornmeal.
- Spoon about 1/3 cup into each of 10 small containers or zip-top bags, seal them, and label each with the date.
Notes
Heat the toy oven for 15 minutes. Grease and flour a 4-inch miniature cake pan. Stir one package of mix with 4 teaspoons water until smooth, pour it into the pan, and bake 12 to 13 minutes. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then turn it out onto a small plate and frost if you like. Each cake serves 2 children. For white cake, leave out the lemonade mix and add a drop or two of vanilla with the water. Store the packages in a cool, dry place and use them within 12 weeks. Don’t let kids taste the raw mix or batter, since it contains raw flour.
