Ingredients

Dip mix
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tablespoon chopped crystallized ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Dip
  • 1 package of the dip mix
  • 1 softened 8-ounce package of cream cheese
  • 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt

Equipment

  • food processor
  • zip-top bags
  • hand mixer

Directions

  1. Process the brown sugar, ginger, and cinnamon in a food processor or blender until the ginger is finely chopped and everything is evenly blended. (Chopping the ginger finely keeps it from turning chewy in the dip.)
  2. Seal the mix in a small zip-top bag.
  3. For the dip, beat the cream cheese and yogurt until smooth, then stir in the dip mix.
  4. Cover and chill for about 1 hour so the flavors meld.

Notes

Keep prepared dip covered in the refrigerator; use within 3 to 4 days. Store the dry mix sealed until ready to use. Variations: neufchâtel instead of cream cheese for a lighter version; tropical version adds 1/4 cup shredded coconut and one 6-ounce can drained crushed pineapple; nutty version adds 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans and 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg.
