What You’ll Need

  • Half-pint plastic jar (or a reused plastic water bottle; scale up for bigger)
  • Hot water (NOT boiling)
  • Small colored glitter: 1-2 Tablespoons
  • Large glitter: ½ teaspoon
  • Glitter glue: about 2 Tablespoons
  • Super glue (or E6000)
  • Measuring spoons

Equipment

  • funnel

Directions

  1. Put 1-2 Tablespoons small glitter and ½ teaspoon large glitter in the jar.
  2. Fill with hot (not boiling) water, leaving about a half-inch of space at the top.
  3. Stir in about 2 Tablespoons glitter glue.
  4. Run a line of super glue around the rim of the jar and screw the cap on tight.
  5. Shake until the glitter glue dissolves.

Notes

Use the jar with kids by shaking it, then breathing while the glitter settles. Mixing colors and adding more glitter makes it work better.
Safety: NOT edible. Use a plastic jar, not glass, for kids. Adult does the hot water and super glue (skin bonds instantly; use in a ventilated spot) and seals the lid so kids can’t open it and swallow glitter or glue water.
