What You’ll Need

  • 1 cup coconut milk powder
  • 1/4 cup Epsom salt
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats (very finely ground)
  • 1-2 TBSP dried rose petals (optional)
  • 1-2 TBSP lavender flowers (optional)
  • 1 tsp liquid carrier oil (optional)
  • 3-5 drops essential oil of choice (optional; lavender)
  • Medium mixing bowl; pint size mason jar if storing

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • mason jars

Directions

  1. Put the carrier oil and essential oils (if you are using them) in the bowl, add the Epsom salt, and stir until the oil is mixed in well. Leave out this step if you are not using essential oils.
  2. If the oats are not already ground, grind them in a coffee grinder until very fine.
  3. Stir the oats, herbs, and coconut milk powder into the salt mixture until blended.

Notes

Empty the whole jar into a tub of warm water and stir before getting in so the milk and salt dissolve. Store in a pint mason jar. You can add a few drops of a gentle, bath-safe essential oil such as cedarwood, lavender, vetiver, or frankincense; use a tub strainer to catch the herbs. Safety: do a patch test first. Coconut is an allergen for some people. Keep the jar dry until use, and watch your step, since oils make the tub slippery.
