Epsom salt, fresh lemon and coconut oil in a jar. Scrub damp skin, rinse, and keep the jar dry between uses.
What You’ll Need
- 1 cup Epsom Salt
- 1 fresh Lemon
- 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
- 8 oz Storage Jar
Equipment
- mixing bowl
- mason jars
Directions
- Put the Epsom salt and coconut oil in a medium bowl and stir with a fork until thoroughly blended.
- Stir in the lemon zest.
- Halve the lemon and squeeze the juice of the whole lemon into the bowl; pick out any seeds.
- Stir with the fork until the scrub turns light and fluffy.
- Scoop into a container with a tight seal, such as an 8 oz jar.
Notes
Place a small amount in your palm and apply to clean skin in the shower; avoid sensitive areas; scrub gently and rinse. Oil separates, so mix well before each use. Because it contains fresh juice, keep it in the fridge and use it within a few days to a week, and within a few weeks at most. Bottled lemon juice kept in the fridge may help it last. Safety: patch test; lemon on skin can cause sun sensitivity, so rinse well and avoid sun on treated skin; salt stings on broken or freshly shaved skin; oil makes the tub slippery.
