Grated soap, rose water, pink clay and primrose extract. Roll into balls and dry for pretty guest soaps.
What You’ll Need
- 2 lbs. Luxury Rebatch (grated soap base)
- 4-6 oz. Rose Water
- 1 Tbs. Pink Brazilian Clay
- 1 tbs. Primrose Extract
- Rose Petals
- .8 oz. Ylang Ylang III Essential Oil
- Crock pot or double boiler mini mixer, two 6 Bar Oval Silicone Molds, plastic wrap
Equipment
- mixing bowl
Directions
- Stir the clay into 1 tbs. rose water until smooth (stir again right before using, since it settles).
- In a crock pot or double boiler over medium heat, melt the rebatch with 4 oz. rose water, stirring often, until it looks like mashed potatoes; add a little more rose water if needed.
- Stir in the clay mixture until completely blended.
- Stir in the primrose extract and ylang ylang oil.
- Spoon into the mold cavities and press firmly (cover with plastic wrap as you press) to push out air pockets. For balls, you can instead press and roll the warm soap by hand while wearing gloves.
- Scatter rose petals on top and press in gently.
- Leave in the molds for 5-7 days; once firm, unmold and let cure several more days so the bars harden.
Notes
Use as bath soap. Safety: hot soap burns, so wear gloves when pressing or rolling; rebatch base is already saponified, so no lye handling is needed (making soap from scratch with lye is an advanced project needing gloves and goggles); ylang ylang can irritate sensitive skin; patch test.
