Sugar, sea salt, coconut oil and tea tree oil. Scrub working hands at the sink and rinse.
What You’ll Need
- 1 cup sugar (white or brown sugar will work)
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 5 drops tea tree essential oil (optional)
Equipment
- mixing bowl
- mason jars
Directions
- Melt the coconut oil to a liquid in a small bowl.
- Stir in the sugar, salt, and essential oil if you like.
- Stir until completely blended.
- Spoon into a jar or another airtight container and keep in a cool place.
Notes
Scoop a small amount into your hands and scrub over dirty or stained hands; rinse with warm water and pat dry; if hands feel greasy, wash again with regular soap. It keeps at least a year without refrigeration. For coconut allergy, use almond or jojoba oil (use a little less of a liquid oil). Safety: salt stings on cuts or cracked skin; tea tree oil is toxic to pets, so keep the jar away from cats and dogs; oil makes sinks and floors slippery.
