What You’ll Need

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 TBSP lavender flowers
  • 1 TBSP baking soda
  • 2 TBSP sea salt (Himalayan if possible)
  • 7 drops lavender essential oil
  • Honey (or water, milk or aloe vera) to mix at use time
  • Coffee grinder (or blender) glass jar

Equipment

  • food processor
  • mixing bowl

Directions

  1. Put the oats, lavender essential oil, and lavender flowers in a coffee grinder and pulse for about 45-60 seconds, until ground.
  2. Tip into a bowl and stir in the baking soda and sea salt.
  3. Keep in a glass jar.

Notes

Mix 2 teaspoons of the scrub with 1 1/2 tsp water or milk (or honey) and gently massage over the face; rinse. As a mask: add liquid to a thick paste, leave on 10-20 minutes, rinse with warm water. Keep the dry mix closed and dry and mix only one use at a time. Safety: patch test; salt and baking soda can be harsh on sensitive or broken skin, so use a light touch and avoid the eyes; honey is not for babies under 1 year.
