What You’ll Need

  • 1/2 cup organic sunflower oil
  • 2 Tbsp. beeswax pastilles (or about .6 ounces by weight)
  • 1/4 tsp. vitamin E oil
  • About 80-120 drops essential oil(s) of choice
  • Blend example: 45 drops organic Virginia cedarwood essential oil, 35 drops organic fresh ginger essential oil, 25 drops organic grapefruit essential oil (105 drops total)
  • Double boiler; small tins herb jars, used lip balm tubes or sterilized lockets

Equipment

  • double boiler

Directions

  1. Melt the beeswax pastilles into the oil in a double boiler.
  2. Once completely melted, lift off the heat and let cool for a few minutes.
  3. Stir in the essential oils and vitamin E oil.
  4. Stir, then pour into containers.
  5. Leave to cool on a shelf out of reach of pets and children.

Notes

Apply a little to the neck or wrists; body warmth brings out the scent. Keep it cool and closed. This is a strong blend, which is fine for perfume since you use so little; start with the smaller amount of essential oil if you have sensitive skin. Safety: do a patch test first. Grapefruit and tangerine oils on skin can cause sun sensitivity.
