Ingredients

Mix
  • 2 cups instant nonfat dry milk powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup cold butter or margarine
To make 1 cup sauce
  • 1 cup water

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • airtight jar

Directions

  1. Stir the dry milk, flour, and salt together.
  2. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture looks like fine crumbs.
  3. Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

For 1 cup of sauce, put the mix and 1 cup water in a saucepan: 1/3 cup mix for a thin sauce, 1/2 cup for medium, or 3/4 cup for thick. Bring it to a boil over medium heat, then cook and stir for 2 minutes. Because the mix contains butter, keep it refrigerated and use it within 3 months.
