Marshmallow cocoa mix
Be the first to rate it
A layered jar of cocoa, powdered milk, sugar and mini chocolate chips, topped with dehydrated marshmallows. It makes a handy gift with the mixing steps on a tag.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 1 cup powdered milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup marshmallows dehydrated
Equipment
- mason jars
- zip-top bags
Directions
- Using a canning funnel, layer the following in a 1-quart jar: cocoa, then powdered milk, sugar and chocolate chips. Wipe the inside of the jar between layers, and press each layer down firmly.
- Put the marshmallows in last; for easy removal, you can seal them in a zip-top bag with a twist tie first.
- Close the jar and attach a gift tag with the directions for making the cocoa.
Notes
Gift tag steps: empty the jar into a bowl, mix well, and return the mix to the jar. Add 4 to 5 tablespoons of mix to a mug, pour 1 cup of boiling water over it, and stir until the sugar and chips dissolve. Top with marshmallows, and whipped cream if desired; hot milk instead of water makes a richer cup. Keeps 3 to 6 months sealed at room temperature. Safety: contains milk powder.
