What You’ll Need

  • 1 cup water OR 1 cup liquid potpourri
  • 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 20 drops essential oils (only if using water)
  • Heat-safe containers
  • Food coloring (optional)

Equipment

  • saucepan
  • mason jars

Directions

  1. Warm 3/4 cup of the water or liquid potpourri over medium-high heat.
  2. Stir in the salt until it dissolves.
  3. Stir in the gelatin until it dissolves.
  4. Take it off the heat and add the remaining 1/4 cup water or liquid potpourri.
  5. Pour into containers and, if you like, add essential oils, food coloring, and a silk flower.
  6. Let it cool, then cover with a lid that has vents.

Notes

Safety: it looks like a dessert; label it, and keep it out of reach of children and pets (essential oils and salt are harmful if eaten). Place where pets can’t lick or knock it over.
