What You’ll Need

  • 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol (or witch hazel or unflavored vodka)
  • 40 drops lavender essential oil
  • 1 1/2 cups distilled water
  • 16-ounce glass spray bottle (amber recommended)

Equipment

  • spray bottle
  • funnel

Directions

  1. Pour the rubbing alcohol and lavender oil into the spray bottle.
  2. Top off the bottle with distilled water, about 1 1/2 cups, and put the spray top back on.
  3. Shake to blend, and give it a light shake before each use because it separates.

Notes

Spray on bed linens, towels, curtains, throw pillows and upholstery; on clothes before ironing; on stored bedding and pillows. Store in a dark bottle away from sunlight. Safety: test on a hidden spot first; rubbing alcohol is flammable, so keep away from flames and heat. Lavender oil is toxic to cats and dogs: don’t spray near pets or their bedding, and let fabrics dry before pets or small children use them. Keep out of reach of children.
