Saved jars swirled inside with blue and white acrylic paint, dried upside down and filled with fresh flowers.
What You’ll Need
- Saved-up jars labels removed
- Shades of blue acrylic craft paint
- White acrylic paint (to lighten the blues)
- Paint for each jar: approximately 1/2 an inch in the jar bottom
- Thick cardboard
- Paper cup (optional, to line the jar if holding water)
- Fresh flowers
Equipment
- mason jars
Directions
- Peel the labels off the jars.
- Squeeze about 1/2 an inch of paint into the bottom of a jar.
- Tip the jar almost upside down and turn it slowly until the paint covers the whole inside.
- Stand the jar upside down on thick cardboard so the extra paint can drip out. Shift the jar every 10-15 minutes so the excess keeps draining.
- When most of the extra paint has drained, set the jar upright and let it dry for a few hours.
- Fill with freshly cut flowers.
Notes
Notes: acrylic is water-based, so water will wash the inside paint away; put a paper cup inside if the jar will hold water. Paint the inside rather than the outside (outside paint scratches off). Expect a lot of runoff; use thick cardboard.
