Glass jars wrapped in tissue paper with printed fairy silhouettes, paper flowers and ribbon, lit with flameless tea lights.
What You’ll Need
- Downloadable “Fairy Jar Silhouettes” art
- 3 sheets of white tissue paper
- 1 yd. of ribbon
- Small green floral pieces
- 9-12 small paper flower shapes
- 3 clear glass jars with lids
- Flameless tea lights
- Ruler
- Water basin
- Paper towels
- Hot glue gun
- Glue sticks
Equipment
- mason jars
- scissors
Directions
- Wash and dry the jars and their lids.
- Measure up the side of a jar to find the tallest the fairy images can be. Print the downloadable art in black and white on copy paper.
- Trim closely around each fairy with scissors.
- Brush Mod Podge Gloss on the inside of a jar. Press a fairy to the glass with the printed side facing out. Cover the whole fairy with Mod Podge to seal it to the jar, then set it aside to dry.
- Do step 4 again for the other two jars.
- While the jars dry, paint the lids one of three colors: bright pink, lavender, or medium blue. Let them dry.
- When the lids are dry, brush on a coat of Mod Podge Sparkle.
- Cut a sheet of tissue paper to fit each jar. Brush Mod Podge Gloss over the fairy, lay the tissue on top, and smooth out the wrinkles. Brush more Gloss over the image, working it under and over the tissue around the whole jar. Stand the jar upside down to dry.
- Once the tissue is dry, brush on a coat of Mod Podge Sparkle, staying clear of the fairy so its silhouette still shows.
- Split the ribbon, greenery, and paper flowers into thirds. Tie a ribbon around each jar.
- Hot glue a center into each paper flower and let it dry.
- Take a small bunch of greenery and tie it onto each jar.
- Hot glue a flower onto each bunch of greenery.
- Set a flameless tea light in each jar and put the lids on.
Notes
Flameless lights only (lids closed, tissue paper inside).
