Ingredients

  • 1½ cups salted roasted peanuts
  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil

Equipment

  • food processor
  • airtight jar

Directions

  1. Put the peanuts and peanut oil in a food processor.
  2. Process until the nuts turn from crumbs to a smooth, spreadable butter, stopping now and then to scrape down the sides with a rubber spatula so every peanut gets ground.
  3. Spoon into a clean jar with a lid.

Notes

Keep it in the refrigerator and use it within 2 weeks. Without the stabilizers in store-bought peanut butter, a little oil may rise to the top; just stir it back in.
