What You’ll Need

  • Castile soap: 1 part
  • Water: 3 parts
  • Optional: 5-10 drops of tea tree oil, orange oil, or lavender oil
  • Optional: 1-2 tbsp melted glycerine soap (more moisturizing)
  • Or use a pre-scented castile soap such as peppermint instead of essential oils
  • Reusable foaming pump bottle

Equipment

  • funnel

Directions

  1. Pour 1 part castile soap and 3 parts water into the foaming pump.
  2. If you are using essential oil or melted glycerine soap, add it now.
  3. Shake well. It is ready to use right away.

Notes

Pump as needed. Water plus soap with no preservative can grow bacteria, so make small batches with boiled-and-cooled or distilled water and use within a week or two, or add a cosmetic preservative.
Safety: keep out of eyes; tea tree oil is toxic to pets; peppermint and citrus can irritate kids’ skin.
