What You’ll Need

  • 2 cups white vinegar
  • 30 drops essential oil(s) (e.g. lavender and lemongrass; chamomile and bergamot; orange and rosemary)
  • Fabric scraps (felt or flannel, about 8 x 8”)
  • Large jar with lid scissors

Equipment

  • mason jars

Directions

  1. Cut fabric into squares of about 8 x 8”, as many as will fit in the jar.
  2. Pour the vinegar into the jar and stir in the oils.
  3. Add the fabric and let it soak up the liquid; stir, cap, shake and flip the jar until every piece is soaked.

Notes

Add 3 to 6 damp sheets at the start of a load. Return dry cloths to the jar afterward to re-soak; make a fresh batch when the liquid runs out.
Safety: label the jar; keep away from kids and pets (oils). Test on delicate fabrics. Never use vinegar sheets in a load that has bleach.
