Ingredients

  • About 1 large lemon
  • 1 large lime
  • 1 cup diced watermelon
  • Strawberries
  • 8 cucumber slices
  • Fresh mint (8 to 10 leaves per jar)
  • Sparkling or bottled water

Equipment

  • mason jars
  • cutting board
  • chef’s knife

Directions

  1. Drop 8 to 10 mint leaves into each jar.
  2. Add two slices of lemon and two slices of lime to each jar, then squeeze the leftover citrus ends over the mint.
  3. Share the strawberries, watermelon and cucumber evenly among the jars.
  4. Top off with water, put on the lids, and give the jars a gentle shake.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Notes

Refills: if a jar is empty and the ingredients are less than a day old, refill with fresh water and refrigerate again; after a second refill the fruit and mint lose flavor, so start a new batch.
