What You’ll Need

  • 2CM felted wool balls (three per clip)
  • Small tassels
  • Small clothespins
  • Embroidery thread (about 16″ per clip)
  • Large darning needle
  • Essential oils

Equipment

  • scissors

Directions

  1. Cut about 16″ of embroidery thread. Push one end through the spring loop of the clothespin, pull it to the middle, and tie a knot about 1″ below.
  2. Thread both ends onto the needle and add three wool balls, the top color first, then knot the thread after the third.
  3. Slide a small tassel onto one thread and knot it in place.
  4. Thread both ends back through the needle and pull them up through the center of the bottom ball and out the top, then trim them close.
  5. Put 3-4 drops of essential oil on the wool balls; to mix scents, use 1-2 drops of each, then test.
  6. Clip it onto a vent slat.

Notes

Hang higher on the vent for a stronger burst of scent; add oil to refresh. Don’t hang from the rearview mirror (this is illegal in most states). Oils may stain light wool. Safety: keep oil off dashboards and seats; research pet- and kid-safe oils.
