What You’ll Need

  • 1/2 cup high-proof vodka (or Everclear)
  • 1/2 cup distilled water
  • 25 drops lavender essential oil
  • 25 drops lemon essential oil
  • 10 drops tea tree essential oil (optional)
  • 16-ounce spray bottle
  • Optional: 1-2 teaspoons baking soda dissolved in 1/2 cup hot (not boiling) water, added to the vodka

Equipment

  • spray bottle
  • funnel

Directions

  1. Pour the vodka into the spray bottle.
  2. Add the essential oils and shake to blend.
  3. Pour in the distilled water and shake again.

Notes

Spray into the air or onto couches, carpets, rugs, cushions, pillows and curtains. Shake before each use. Not for silk, leather or suede; untested on wool or cashmere. Spot test a hidden area first; oils can stain, and baking soda can leave white spots and clog the nozzle. Lasts several weeks with water (months without). Alcohol is flammable: keep away from flames. Keep out of reach of children.
