What You’ll Need

  • Metal tray or wooden tray
  • Hanging mason jars (or regular mason jars)
  • Epson (Epsom) salt — “an inch or two” per jar
  • Red votive candles
  • Christmas potpourri or orange blend
  • Equipment: mason jar funnel

Equipment

  • mason jars
  • funnel

Directions

  1. Build the centerpiece on a metal tray or a wooden tray.
  2. Use the mason jar funnel to pour an inch or two of Epsom salt into several hanging or regular mason jars (it stands in for fake snow).
  3. Stand a red or maroon votive candle in the middle of each jar (gold or silver glass votive holders work well too).
  4. Set the jars on the tray in a single row down the middle.
  5. Fill the gaps around the jars with a Christmas potpourri blend (dried or faux fruit and pinecones work well too).

Notes

Time: 30 minutes. Dried potpourri is flammable: keep it well away from the jar mouths, never leave lit, or use LED votives.
