  • 1 1/2 tablespoons finely ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons dried onion flakes
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons whole celery seed
  • 1 1/4 tablespoons dried powdered basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon rind

Equipment

  • zip-top bags
  • mixing bowl
  • airtight jar

Directions

  1. Put everything in a zip-top bag or bowl and shake or stir until evenly mixed.
  2. Pour into a clean, airtight spice jar, label it, and keep in a cool, dry place.

Notes

Use 1 to 2 teaspoons per pound of chicken, fish, or vegetables, to taste. Store airtight in a cool, dry cupboard for up to about 1 year. Use dried lemon peel; fresh would add moisture.
