What You’ll Need

  • 1 1/2 cups hot Water
  • 1/2 cup Castile Soap
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Soda
  • 1 tablespoon grated Bar Soap
  • A few drops essential oil (optional)
  • Large bowl kept for soap making; jar with a soap pump

Equipment

  • glass bottle
  • funnel

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, put the castile soap, baking soda, grated bar soap and any essential oil.
  2. Pour the very hot water over the top slowly while stirring (a helper comes in handy).
  3. Stir until everything dissolves, then let it cool on the counter, stirring when needed.
  4. Pour into a container.

Notes

For hand-washing dishes.
Safety: not for the dishwasher (it will suds over). Tea tree and peppermint oils are toxic to pets. Very hot water, so pour carefully. Label the pump so it isn’t mistaken for hand lotion or food.
