Epsom or rock salt with essential oils. Toss a spoonful in the wash for a fresh scent.
What You’ll Need
- 1 cup Epsom or rock salt
- 20 drops of the essential oil of your choice
- Airtight container (a clean, dry reused pickle jar)
Equipment

- airtight jar
Directions
- Mix the salt and essential oils together thoroughly in a bowl.
- Keep in a sealed airtight container.
Notes
Add 1 tablespoon to the wash with your detergent.
Safety: essential oils can irritate skin and are toxic to cats, dogs and birds — keep the jar out of reach, and skip or reduce oils for baby clothes and sensitive skin. Label it so it isn’t mistaken for bath or food salt. Test on delicate fabrics; undiluted oil can spot.
