What You’ll Need
- Mason jars
- Chalk paint
- Polycrylic (a thin coat)
- Gold spray paint
- Wooden tags (Transform Mason line)
- Chalkboard paint
- China marker
- Hanging handle for the jar (Transform Mason)
- Small rocks
- Herb plants “several” (seeds are an option)
- Sandpaper (implied)
Equipment
- mason jars
- paintbrush
Directions
- Paint the outside of the mason jars with chalk paint.
- Let the paint dry, brush on a thin coat of polycrylic, and let that dry too.
- Tape off the bottom of each jar and spray the bottom gold.
- Lightly sand the raised “Ball” lettering for a worn look.
- Paint the jar ring the same gold. Attach the handle so you can hang the jar.
- Cover the wooden tags with chalkboard paint.
- Write the labels on the tags with a china marker (it looks like chalk but is permanent).
- Put small rocks in the bottom of each jar for drainage.
- Plant the herbs.
Notes
Jars have no drainage holes; the rocks are the only drainage, so don’t overwater. Spray paint outdoors.
