Ingredients

  • 1 cup lacinato kale roughly chopped
  • 1 banana chopped
  • 1/2 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 tablespoon honey or to taste

Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • blender
  • mason jars

Directions

  1. Spread the kale, banana, and pineapple over a baking sheet and freeze for 1 hour so they do not clump. Then move them to a container or bag until you are ready to make the smoothie.
  2. Put the frozen kale, banana, and pineapple in a blender with the almond milk and honey. Blend to the thickness you like.

Notes

Freezer packs, not fridge jars: keep the frozen fruit and kale in a container (a jar works) or bag until use; about 14 packets can be made at a time. Filled jars keep frozen up to three months; blended smoothies keep 2 to 3 days in the fridge (skip greens and chia or flax for that). Safety: no honey for babies under 1.
