Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (105 g) sugar
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) water
  • 3 cups (750 ml) ice cubes
  • 1 cup (185 g) fresh mango cut into pieces (about 1 large mango)
  • 1 cup (170 g) fresh strawberries cut into pieces
  • 1 cup (175 g) green seedless grapes

Equipment

  • saucepan
  • blender
  • pitcher

Directions

  1. Simple syrup: warm the sugar and water in a small pot just until the sugar dissolves. Pour into an airtight container and let cool. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour, or until fully cold.
  2. Mango layer: in the frozen drink maker, blend 1 cup (250 ml) of the ice with the mango and 2 tbsp (30 ml) of the simple syrup, pulsing until smooth. Divide among the 4 glasses and keep them in the refrigerator.
  3. Rinse out the pitcher. Do the same as in step 2 with the strawberries, and then again with the grapes.
  4. Spoon the strawberry slush over the mango slush, then finish with the grape slush on top. Serve right away.

Notes

The simple syrup keeps 1 month in the refrigerator and can be used in other slush recipes. Times: prep 20 min, cooking 4 min, chilling 1 h. Alcohol-free (the syrup can also be used in cocktails).
