Ingredients

  • 24 ounces milk chocolate chips (1 bag)
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • ⅓ cup Kahlua (or any brand of coffee liqueur)
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips (optional)
  • Additional white chocolate chips to melt and drizzle (optional)

Equipment

  • microwave-safe bowl
  • 9×9-inch pan

Directions

  1. Place the milk chocolate chips and condensed milk in a large microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Microwave on high for 30 seconds, then stir. Keep going 10 to 20 seconds at a time until melted; when it is about halfway melted, stop and stir until the rest melts.
  3. Stir in the Kahlua until blended.
  4. Pour into an 8×8 pan lined with wax paper.
  5. If you are using the ½ cup white chocolate chips, sprinkle them on top and press in gently.
  6. Refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours, until set. Cut into squares, and drizzle with melted white chocolate if you like.

Notes

Safety: contains coffee liqueur (alcohol is not cooked off); label it for gifts and keep away from children. Non-alcoholic option: replace the Kahlua with brewed coffee. Storage: room temperature up to one week in a cool, dry place, airtight, wax paper between layers; refrigerator up to 2 weeks; freezer up to 3 months, thaw in the refrigerator overnight.
