Bleach sanitizing and disinfecting sprays

For when a surface truly needs sanitizing. Clean it with soap first, then sanitize.

  1. The recipe

Sanitizing solution (cutting boards, counters, toys, doorknobs, trash cans)

    You need

    • 3 tablespoons liquid bleach
    • 1 gallon water

    How

    1. Wash the surface with soap and rinse well first.
    2. Wipe the bleach solution on, leave it two minutes, then rinse and air dry.

Use bleach and soap separately, never together. Open a window. Never mix bleach with vinegar, ammonia or rubbing alcohol. Label the bottle and keep it away from children and pets.

  2. Another recipe

Disinfecting spray (toilet bowls, grout, tubs, trash cans)

    You need

    • 3/4 cup household bleach
    • 1 gallon water

    How

    1. Clean off visible dirt first.
    2. Spray on, let it sit as the label of your bleach says, then rinse.

Strong stuff: ventilate, wear gloves, keep it off fabrics and colored surfaces. Never mix bleach with vinegar, ammonia or rubbing alcohol. Label the bottle and keep it away from children and pets.
