Window cleaners (inside and outside)

Simple mixes for inside windows and bigger batches for outside.

  1. The recipe

    Inside windows

    You need

    • 1 cup white vinegar
    • 1 teaspoon liquid dish soap
    • A few drops essential oil (optional)
    • Water to fill a spray bottle
    • Newspaper to wipe

    How

    1. Mix in a spray bottle and fill with water; add essential oil if you want it scented.
    2. Spray, then wipe with newspaper to avoid streaks. Straight vinegar also works inside.

    Never mix with bleach.

  2. Another recipe

    Outside windows, without ammonia

    You need

    • 1/4 cup vinegar
    • 1 teaspoon dish detergent
    • 1 gallon water

    How

Mix, apply and rinse, then dry with a cloth.

Too much ammonia can discolor thermal pane windows, insulated film and rubber seals, so use the no-ammonia mixes on those windows.
