What You’ll Need

  • 1 gallon water
  • 1 cup ammonia or 2 tsp. Dawn dishsoap
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • Spray bottle

Equipment

  • spray bottle
  • funnel

Directions

  1. Mix all the ingredients together.
  2. Pour into a spray bottle and use on showers, toilets, sinks and counters.
  3. On floors, spray it on and wipe it up.

Notes

Adding about 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol to the bottle is optional. This is not a tested disinfectant.
Safety: the dish-soap version is the safer choice. If using ammonia: NEVER mix with bleach or bleach-containing cleaners (toxic chloramine gas), ventilate well, and wear gloves. Add the baking soda slowly, because it foams with vinegar; don’t seal a bottle while it’s still fizzing. Label the jug, and keep it away from kids and pets.
