What You’ll Need

  • 300g / 11 ounces of alcohol (cheap grain alcohol)
  • 200g / 7 ounces of water
  • 80g / 3 ounces of citric acid
  • Glass bottle

Equipment

  • glass bottle
  • funnel

Directions

  1. Warm the water in a saucepan and dissolve the citric acid in it.
  2. Pour it into an empty glass bottle.
  3. Stir in the alcohol.
  4. Close the bottle and shake well.

Notes

Fill the rinse-aid dispenser. In a clear dispenser, a pinch of turmeric, mustard, or paprika adds color so you can see when to refill. Safety: add the alcohol only after the water is off the heat, because it's flammable. Label the bottle clearly; it looks like a drink but contains alcohol and acid, so store it away from kids.
