  2. Then try

    Pre-treater I

Fill 1/8 of a clean bottle with lemon ammonia and 1/8 with regular liquid laundry detergent (make sure it has no bleach), then top with cold water. Pour in the ammonia first, then the detergent, then the water. Saturate stains on everything except delicates, let it set for a while and launder as usual.

Never mix ammonia and bleach. It is dangerous, so read the label twice.

  3. Then try

    Pre-treater II

In a 1 quart spray bottle or glass jar, combine 2/3 cup Dawn, 2/3 cup ammonia, 1/3 cup Arm and Hammer washing soda and water to fill. Shake before each use, because it settles. Spray the stain, rub and launder as usual. For stubborn stains, leave it on overnight.

Never mix ammonia and bleach. It is dangerous, so read the label twice.

  4. Then try

    Borax paste or soak

Mix borax and water into a thick paste, work it into the stain, let it sit 1 to 3 hours and rinse. For tough stains, soak the clothes first in 1 gallon of water mixed with 1/2 cup of borax.
