Dog urine

Dog urine is a urine stain, so rinse with cool water and treat the odor too.

  1. Try this first

Cool water, detergent, then a hot wash

Rinse the stain with cool water. Soak the item in cool water with heavy-duty liquid detergent, then launder in hot water.

Test any stain remover on a hidden seam or hem first, and check the care label.

  2. Then try

If the color changed, or a stain is left

If the fabric color has changed, sponge the stain with ammonia and rinse. If a stain is still there, sponge it with white vinegar and launder again.

Never mix ammonia and chlorine bleach, and rinse well between one stain remover and the next.

  3. Then try

    Overnight pre-soak

Soak overnight in a laundry pre-soak (an enzyme product), then wash.

Still there? Try the all-purpose ways or pick another stain.
