Baked-on grease on baking sheets and pans

Soak and paste it off. Let time do the scrubbing.

  1. Try this first

    Hot soapy soak

Fill the sink with very hot water and a good squirt of dish soap, lay the pan in and soak for an hour or overnight. Scrub with a non-scratch pad.

  2. Then try

    Baking soda and peroxide paste

Sprinkle baking soda over the pan, drizzle with 3 percent hydrogen peroxide to make a paste, leave 2 hours or more, then scrub and rinse.

Not for pans with a non-stick coating. Plain aluminum can darken with strong cleaners, so keep the soak short and rinse well.

Still there? Try the all-purpose ways or pick another stain.
