Cement and concrete splashes on clothes

Wet cement can burn skin, so protect yourself first. For the clothes, let the cement dry before you brush it off.

  1. Try this first

Let it dry, then brush it off

Take the clothes off and let the cement dry. Shake and brush off as much as you can outdoors. Rinse the rest with a garden hose, then launder the clothes alone. Do not rinse wet cement in a sink or washer: it can clog the drain.

Wet cement is very alkaline and can burn skin. Rinse any skin with plenty of water and see a doctor if it burns. Wear gloves and a dust mask when brushing off dry cement.

  2. Then try

A little vinegar for the white haze

If a pale film is left, dab with white vinegar, let it sit a few minutes, rinse and launder again.

Test on a hidden spot first and check the care label.
