Adhesive tape

Adhesive tape is a sticky residue.

  1. Try this first

    Vodka

Apply vodka to stuck-on stickers, price tags or labels to loosen the adhesive, then remove the sticker.

  2. Then try

    Rubbing alcohol

Soak a washcloth with rubbing alcohol and let it sit on the decal or label. You need only a small edge to lift, and then you can grab it and pull it off. The remaining adhesive can be removed with more rubbing alcohol and a nylon scrubber if needed.

  3. Then try

Baby oil (glass, metal and hard plastic)

Peel off as much of the label as you can, rub baby oil over the leftover glue and wait 5 to 10 minutes. The goo should wipe off with a paper towel. Wash the item in hot, soapy water to remove the oily film.

  4. Then try

A hair dryer (paper, fabric and unfinished wood)

Some surfaces should not get oily. For those, warm the label with a hair dryer on low until the glue softens, then peel slowly.
