Candle wax and grease on wood

Harden the wax, lift it, then wipe. Never scrape with metal.

  1. Try this first

    Wax: chill, lift, wipe

Let drips harden, or hold an ice cube in a bag on them. Lift with a plastic card or the edge of a spoon. Wipe the film with a soft cloth dampened with a little dish soap and water, and dry.

No metal knives or scrapers, and no heat gun: they scratch and burn wood.

  2. Then try

    Grease: absorb, then wipe

Blot the grease, sprinkle cornstarch or baking soda, leave 15 minutes and brush off. Wipe with a lightly soapy damp cloth and dry.

Still there? Try the all-purpose ways or pick another stain.
