Correction fluid (White-Out)

Start with plain detergent. Acetone is the stronger last try.

  1. Try this first

Liquid detergent, then a hot wash

Pour liquid laundry detergent on the stain to cover it and let it sit about 5 minutes. Put the garment in the washer without rinsing and wash at the hottest setting the care label allows. Check before drying and repeat if needed.

Test any stain remover on a hidden seam or hem first, and check the care label.

  2. Then try

    Acetone, as a last try

If the stain stays, sponge it with acetone (a non-oily nail polish remover with acetone), tamp gently with a brush or spoon and flush with rubbing alcohol.

Do not use acetone on fabric that contains acetate. Acetone is flammable: use it in a well-ventilated room, away from flames.

Still there? Try the all-purpose ways or pick another stain.
