Curry and turmeric

Turmeric is a strong yellow dye, so treat it right away. (It is the same yellow dye that is in mustard.)

  1. Try this first

Scrape, then a pre-wash stain remover

Scrape off the extra. Sponge with a pre-wash soil and stain remover, then rinse.

Test any stain remover on a hidden seam or hem first, and check the care label.

  2. Then try

Detergent and a few drops of vinegar

Work light-duty liquid detergent and a few drops of white vinegar into the stain. Rinse well.

  3. Then try

    3% hydrogen peroxide

If the stain is still there, apply 3% hydrogen peroxide, rinse and launder.

Hydrogen peroxide is a bleach and can lighten colors. Test any stain remover on a hidden seam or hem first, and check the care label.

Still there? Try the all-purpose ways or pick another stain.
