Hair dye and nail polish on countertops

Dye and polish are easiest to remove fresh. Wipe, do not scrub.

  1. Try this first

    Fresh: soap and water

Wipe at once with warm soapy water. For nail polish, blot, do not smear.

  2. Then try

Dried: baking soda or acetone-free remover

For hair dye on laminate or a white sink, try a baking soda paste, left 15 minutes, then wiped. For dried nail polish, dab a little nail polish remover on a cotton ball, wipe, then wash with soap and water.

Nail polish remover can dull or melt some finishes and plastics. Test a hidden spot. Not for natural stone or wood.
